EZRA Chaplains and MembersĀ are required to adhere in writing and practice to the following Code of Ethics:

  • to respect the dignity of all human beings as individuals created in the image of God.
  • to strive to provide care for the hurting without seeing them as only evangelistic objects.
  • to behave in keeping with their Christian calling and avoid all inappropriate contact, sexual and otherwise, with the people to whom they minister.
  • to work willingly under the direction of their Chaplaincy supervisor.
  • to honour the rules and regulations of industry for whom ministry is provided.
  • to strictly observe the principles of confidentiality as required.
  • to engage in training as available and required.
  • to perform all ministry as unto the Lord.
  • to resist seeking self-glory.
  • to strive to work cooperatively with members of other Christian denominations.
  • to respect the faith tradition of others.
  • to give due attention to non-proselytizing.
