EZRA Chaplaincy desires to provide spiritual, emotional and social support to those in conflict with the law.

Often people suffering from economic deprivation, family violence or sexual abuse become victims of scenarios which lead to incarceration.

Youth who offend are at risk of being socialized into the self-perpetuating cycle of dysfunction. This is especially true if incarceration becomes a necessary part of sentencing. Many serving dispositions in Youth Correctional Facilities are found later serving time in Adult Prisons.

The Christian faith has traditionally provided hope and guidance in coping with these difficulties. EZRA Chaplaincy desires to be of assistance to residents and inmates in Youth Centres and Adult Prison Facilities.

EZRA desires to offer help through one-on-one counselling, chapel activities, and group programming, striving to complement the programmes already in place at various institutions, and is currently seeking to recruit Prison Ministers and Volunteers for this outreach.

Through EZRA Training Ministry, Prison Ministry Training Seminars are offered from time to time. Our Prison Chaplains are Linda Maher and Rev. Dr. Edison Wiltshire
